“I started my medical career as an anesthesiologist. However, I realized that I could be more involved in patient care by specializing in pain management. I liked the one on one attention of an awake patient. I wanted to help patients on a personal level. This brings me a lot of gratification. I enjoy watching the progression of patients improving over time. I take my time, listen to the patients’ issues and get involved in their care. I genuinely want to improve their lives. I hope to give them peace of mind and a better quality of life.”
Brian Haftel MD is the founding Doctor at Multi-Specialty Pain Management, PC and NY Surgical & Anesthesia Suites, PC (AAAASF Accredited OBS Surgical Center). He has been in practice for over 15 years. Dr. Haftel completed his bachelor degree at Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. After completing Medical School at University of Florida College of Medicine he did his internship at Long Island Jewish Medical Center followed by an Anesthesiology residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. He then went on to complete a fellowship in Pain Management at NYU Hospital. He is board certified in anesthesiology. Dr. Haftel is on Staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Yonkers, NY.
Dr. Haftel has a wide range of experience in treating chronic and refractory pain problems using many different approaches including medications, interventional pain procedures, and physical therapy. Dr. Haftel specializes in intervention therapies such as epidural injections, joint injections, nerve blocks and percutaneous disectomies. He has many satisfied chronic pain patients who are able to live their life with minimal or no pain after treatment. In addition, Dr. Haftel is a member of several professional societies and organizations in anesthesiology and pain medicine.
Dr. Haftel also enjoys spending time with his family and three boys, traveling, reading, baseball, fishing and exercising.
